Leadership
Morris (Bud) Williams
Bud Williams is one of those rare individuals who was born and raised in Florida. His mother, Irene, was injured in a car accident and had been a paraplegic since Bud was four years old. She required around the clock care, some of which had been provided by Bud since he was very young. Even with these challenging circumstances, Irene was able to provide a nurturing and loving environment that included having a vision for Bud’s life. She encouraged him to get a college education and to become a member of a profession. He graduated with honors from the University of Central Florida with a degree in accounting and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1979. He worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and later, a large real estate development company as their Vice President of Finance. He purchased and sold a Coldwell Banker real estate franchise before founding The Williams Real Estate Company.
Bud has helped many clients over the years to either sell or purchase a home. He has also worked with many commercial real estate investors to buy or sell commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and vacant land holdings. He began the company’s property management division in 2011 and manages properties for investors throughout Florida. Bud also holds a Florida Certified Residential Contractor license. His knowledge of building construction enables him to fully understand complex construction issues and articulate to prospective buyers and sellers the value of various custom finishes and features.
Bud has been married since 1982 to Charlotte. Charlotte’s father, Carl, was retired from the U.S. Air Force as a medic and, in the last two years of Carl’s life, he came to live with them. Together they cared for Carl until his passing in 2011. It was the closeness that developed while his father-in-law lived with him that enabled Bud to better understand the mission and scope of the U.S. military. In memory of their father-in-law and father, respectively, Bud and Charlotte, extend discounts on their real estate services to honor the service of active duty military and military veterans. They consider it a privilege to serve those who have served. God bless America.
Charlotte Williams
Charlotte was born at Sampson Air Force Base in upstate New York. Her father was a medic in the Air Force, and they were transferred more frequently than most military families. Growing up in the military helped imbue her with a sense of adventure and a desire to mirror in her own life the excellence she witnessed in the U.S. Air Force as a dependent. Military life also engendered in Charlotte a keen understanding of how much a permanent home can mean to an individual or a family. To that end, after a career as a Certified Public Accountant and then in private accounting for Fortune 500 companies, Lockheed Martin, and National Cash Register, she was attracted to the residential construction and real estate industries. She has held a Florida Certified Residential Contractor license since 1992 and was one of the first female custom homebuilders in Central Florida. To enhance the marketing of the homes she built, Charlotte founded The Williams Real Estate Company and has been a Florida licensed real estate broker for many years.
When the Great Recession was in full swing, many of her real estate clients turned to her to assist them in selling their homes as they fell into foreclosure proceedings. In that crippled economy, clients began asking her legal questions about how to attain waivers of deficiency judgments from their mortgage companies, whether they should file bankruptcy, and how to address estate planning issues, to name a few. Charlotte had to defer their questions to various law firms and wished that she had the ability to herself answer their questions. More than one client voiced that they only wanted to deal with Charlotte, rather than in tandem with a law firm, at such a difficult time in their lives. With the thought of how to better serve her real estate clients in the future and the economy beginning to recover, she explored how to earn a law degree.
Charlotte received a law degree from the Tampa campus of Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. She earned an LL.M. in taxation, an advanced law degree, in 2023, and will sit for the Florida bar examination in July of this year. As a real estate broker and future attorney, Charlotte seeks to offer her clients the highest level of service, always having a strong desire to work with military veterans and active duty to help them find a permanent home. The Williams Real Estate Company offers a discount on their commissions to those who have served to honor their sacrifices and to honor her late father, Carl E. Williams, who retired from the U.S. Air Force as a medic. In her estate planning, she has made a provision to devise the proceeds of her estate to establish a full scholarship in her father’s name to the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. Any candidate who has served in the U.S. military would be eligible for the scholarship.
